Program Description

Hospitality will be hiring again before you know it. If you’ve always dreamed of a career in food and beverage, or you just need to get your foot in the door, now is the time to get ready for success and Fast Track can take you there.

With daily support from Trainers, Employment Specialists, and a Youth Engagement and Success Specialist, Fast Track will help you discover a variety of hospitality career paths, and give you the opportunity to earn important industry certifications at no cost.

Program Details

With a mix of online, instructor-led sessions, one-on-one coaching, and support from job developers, Fast Track also includes group activities, resume preparation, and mock interviews.

The program is broken down into three blocks: training, certification, and job placement. During the training phase you will work with HWTC Instructors and the Youth Engagement and Success Specialist to learn about the hospitality industry, develop your resume and job search skills, strengthen your soft skills, and prepare for job interviews.

Immediately following training, you will review and obtain your Smart Serve and Food Handlers certifications and meet with a Job Developer and the Youth Engagement and Success Specialist to prepare for job placement. The final two weeks of the program will include 7-10 shifts at a hospitality-focused employer, where you’ll put your training to work. Upon completion of the program you will be eligible for a stipend.

Please note: Job placements in the final two weeks of the program are subject to local Covid-19 restrictions and will require full-time availability.
