About the Role

The Programs Assistant is responsible for ensuring both the optimal performance of our virtual learning platforms and a positive and seamless experience for HWTC participants engaging with our virtual platforms.


Using your excellent organizational and customer service skills, you will provide administrative and coordination supports to advance HWTC’s program delivery across multiple virtual platforms including our Learning Management System (LMS) Litmos, Zoom, Eventbrite and Salesforce.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting outreach strategies and activities to recruit youth candidates to HWTC’s programs;Providing administrative supports to instructors and participants accessing training programs in our customized Learning Management System (LMS);
  • Tracking participant progress and completion of training in the LMS, including: tracking attendance, completion of assignments, and eligibility for program completion stipend;
  • Supporting enrollment in HWTC programs and services by responding to general inquiries, and tracking and following up on registrations in Eventbrite;
  • Assisting training participants and trouble-shooting technical difficulties during training on Zoom;

About You

You are curious, highly organized, and creative. Your excellent customer service skills ensure that you can effectively and compassionately identify the needs and challenges of participants struggling to engage in HWTC’s training programs and help solve those problems.

You are comfortable working with technology and are willing and interested in learning how to use new programs and software. You are able to translate that new knowledge to assist others to use the technology as well.

Your skills include:

  • 1-2 years customer service experience;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Proficiency with MS Office and using other office-related equipment;
  • Experience with using Salesforce, Zoom, and/or Eventbrite is an asset.

This is a full-time position. The salary range is between $55,000- 57,000. We offer a 100% employer funded health and wellness plan and generous leave entitlements. Compensation for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.

This role is a virtual role until Toronto Public Health indicates that it is safe to return to the office in-person, at which time there may be a requirement to return to the office, depending upon operational requirements.
